Cookout held to bring together police, community | Arts & Culture

TABOR CITY, NC (WECT) - Police officers in one Columbus County town are looking to build relationships.

A cookout was held Friday by the Tabor City Police Department, where about 100 people came out and enjoyed barbeque and hot dogs.

The fire department and rescue squad were also at the event.

Police officers say they want a stronger relationship with the community so that they can make the city a better place and reduce crime rates.
