COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Instructor Tanya Bellamy (front center) stands with area students who recently graduated from the Phlebotomy Program at Southeastern Community College.
They are (first row, left) Dorothy Shipman of Tabor City, Meredith Fowler of Tabor City, Michelle Leiby of Lake Waccamaw, (second row) Nicki Inman of Ash, Amy Smith of Whiteville, and Jessica Hilburn of Tabor City. All the graduates were offered jobs in the field.
The Phlebotomy curriculum prepares individuals to obtain blood and other specimens for the purpose of laboratory analysis. Graduates may qualify for employment in hospitals, clinics, physicians’ offices and other health care settings.
