COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Officials from Columbus, Marion and Horry counties will meet Monday to discuss how to get trains moving through the three counties.
Columbus County’s economic director Gary Lanier and Chadbourn Town Mayor Stevie Cox arranged the meeting.
Lanier expects more than 60 people to attend the meeting, including mayors, business owners and county commissioners.
A train hasn’t traveled through Columbus County in a year because the tracks do not meet government regulations.
The meeting will start at 6 p.m. at the public safety office in Loris, SC, which is a few miles outside of Tabor City.
