Local suspect wanted for sex crimes found in FL | Crime

TABOR CITY, NC (WECT) - Police in Tabor City say a man they've been looking for since 2010 will soon be in their custody.

Derrick Lee Robinson was charged with sex crimes involving a minor back in 2010, and officials have been looking for him since.

Currently, Robinson is behind bars at a correctional facility in Florida.

He was scheduled to be released May 25, and police say now, the NC SBI is helping them to get custody of Robinson.

Officials say an agent has gone to Florida to retrieve Robinson so that he should be back in Columbus County within days.
