TABOR CITY, NC (AP) - The assistant fire chief in Tabor City has been charged with drunken driving in South Carolina.
The Fayetteville Observer reported that Jeff Fowler has been suspended from driving town-owned vehicles while the case is investigated.
Fowler says he had consumed alcohol but was not drunk when he was stopped by the South Carolina Highway Patrol on Friday.
Al Leonard, the town
manger of Tabor City, says on Friday he'll meet with Fire Chief
Jerry Hodges to talk about personnel actions regarding Fowler.
