Chadbourn to examine budget setback at upcoming meeting | News

CHADBOURN, NC (WECT) - Chadbourn Town Council members are preparing for another chance to solve their financial issues.

They'll hold a budget meeting Monday, and Town Manager Stevie Cox says the town is $278,000 dollars over its budget for next year.

Earlier this week, council members decided to give up their salaries.

Council members are also asking department heads to try to cut their budgets by 10 percent.

Cox says the financial issues they're facing are from things that are out of their control. There are 22 town employees, and he says that there could be layoffs.
