COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Leaders in Columbus County agreed on next year's budget during a regularly scheduled meeting Monday night.
County Commissioners approved continuing the Department of Aging's personal care services program.
The program is losing hundreds of thousands of dollars, and a consultant recently determined that it would be the right economic decision to cut the program.
The budget does not include a proposal to reduce the operating hours of the Department of Aging center to 30 per week. The limited hours would save the county $47,000.
