TABOR CITY, NC (WECT) - According to Tabor City officials, on Aug. 9, in the early morning around 5:50, a call came into authorities that there was a suspicious vehicle at the intersection of Fifth and Lewis streets.

Investigators say when they arrived on scene, they found David Grubbs sitting in a vehicle, parked at Great Grace Church. Police say Grubbs had been shot in the face.

They believe the shooting maybe connected to other crimes that happened Thursday morning.

Detectives say, around the same time Grubbs was shot, a man in Loris, SC, which is just outside of Tabor City, was beaten and had his car stolen.

They say that after that happened, a house in Loris was shot up, and the vehicle used is described as the same car that was stolen.

According to the police chief in Tabor City, a woman named Amanda Hardee, who was allegedly involved with the shooting in Loris, turned herself into police Wednesday. Hardee is facing six counts of attempted murder.

Loris Police Chief Joseph Vaught said that around 4:30 a.m., a residence there had multiple gun shots fired into the residence, where one person received a gunshot wound to his arm.

The man was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Authorities are searching for Dustin Stackhouse, Xavier Hemingway who goes by "Ray Ray" and David Hemingway who goes by "Frog" in connection to the crimes.
