Change of ownership underway for Waterbrooke Assisted Living | News

COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WECT) – It will be a little while longer before residents can move back into an assisted living facility in Tabor City, as a change of ownership is still underway for the troubled Waterbrooke facility.

According to a spokesman for the state Department of Health and Human Services, RenCare Solutions now owns Waterbrooke, and an application to change the license has been submitted.

The spokesman says that no action will be taken on the application until the previous owner, Reema Owens, gives up the license, or an appeal to not revoke the facility's license is granted.

No residents have lived in Waterbrooke for at least two weeks.
